The one arm shoulder throw is similar to the hip throw but instead of wrapping one arm around the back it goes around the assailants arm. This type of throw can be performed from a static position but works best when the assailant is coming forward, giving you some momentum to take advantage of.

The Palm Heel Strike

Thursday, July 30th, 2015

The Palm heel strike is very underestimated. It is actually a very effective strike. It can be used instead of a fist to areas you would otherwise damage the knuckles. For example, most people would opt for a fist to the head or face but if the person on the receiving end were to move slightly or flinch, the person throwing the punch could end up hurting themselves more.

Dynamic Breakfall Drills, however, are a little more involved than the static drills.

They serve an important part in developing coordination for throws and take-downs which will come later. They also help as an exercise and strengthen the body as many muscles are used in the process.
