Hold Escapes

As we are a Self Defence style of Ju Jitsu, much of the emphasis is directed towards hold escapes. The techniques we teach are simple and very effective. The Movements are all gross motor skills virtually everyone can do. This is an important factor in Self Defence as most people are simply incapable of performing fine motor skills in a high stress situation.

Modified Push Ups

If you struggle to do a feel regular push ups then try doing these modified push ups and you’ll benefit far more from doing so. The only real difference is that you keep your knees on the ground. Keep the rest of the form very true and go right down the ground with your chin and chest.

Push Ups are a great exercise, modify them to suit your level of strength and fitness.

The Outer Wrist Lock

The outer wrist lock is a good set up for many techniques, including take-downs, strikes and restraints.

A joint I know lock like this involves taking a joint to the extent of it’s intended range of motion, beyond which dislocation or tissue damage takes place.
